Art forum- visiting artist: Dana Chodzko

Dana Chodzko is an international artist living in the high desert of Abiquiu, New Mexico. Her work manifests as visual language in interdisciplinary media. Ideas are conveyed through symbolic forms and words, reflecting society, politics, culture, philosophy, and the environment.
Chodzko’s mixed media sculptures, public works, installations and site-specific sculptures are exhibited throughout the world in museums, galleries, and exhibitions, belonging to corporate, public and private collections including the Bay Area Rapid Transit, the National Guard Headquarters, New Mexico State Capitol Building and Adobe Corporate Headquarters.
Dana Chodzko studied Sculpture and Performance Art on a Ford Foundation scholarship at the Otis Art Institute, where she was awarded an NEA grant for a videoed performance piece, recorded in a Los Angeles television studio. She received her MFA from Stanford University, who awarded her a 2-year fellowship to study Sculpture and Installation. Her graduate work included collaborations with Nobel Prize winning physicists at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.
For the past 12 years Professor Chodzko has directed the Sculpture Department at the Institute of American Indian Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dana is a visiting artist in the Sculpture Workshop.
